Een (studie)opdracht om ergens in de stad Groningen een driedimensionaal portret van een cultureel belangrijk persoon te plaatsen, leidde tot het plan om de bouwput van het Groninger Museum te omheinen met een houten wand met kijkgaten. Daarachter zijn allerlei zaken, van spiegels en lenzen tot kijkdozen te vinden, als een tijdelijke hommage aan en portret van toenmalig directeur Frans Haks. A (study) assignment with the objective of putting up a three-dimensional portrait of somebody of great cultural significance somewhere in the city of Groningen (the Netherlands), led to the idea of enclosing the construction site of the Groninger Museum with a wooden fence featuring peepholes. Through these peepholes all kinds of things could be seen, such as mirrors and lenses as well as dioramas. All designed as a temporary tribute to and portrait of Frans Haks, the then managing director of the Groninger Museum. The book design presented here consists of a wood covered booklet packaged in a wooden outer box, both of which feature conical drill holes – as a reference to the fence’s peepholes.
