Ik maakte al affiches toen ik nog niet wist dat je daar je vak van kon maken. De Stichting Jazz in Groningen was een opdrachtgever die me volledige vrijheid gaf, wat dan ook tot de nodige vrijwel onleesbare affiches heeft geleid – ik hoef ze niet aan te wijzen, ze komen er zelf wel voor uit.

I was already designing posters before I even knew it was a real profession. The commissioning Stichting Jazz (the Jazz Foundation) in the city of Groningen (the Netherlands) always granted me full artistic freedom, now and then indeed resulting in the occasional virtually illegible poster – I don’t have to point these out to you, they clearly stand out on their own.
